I discovered my love of photography in high school, before digital photography was everywhere. I was rarely seen walking the halls without my camera strapped to me, photographing sporting events and student life. I loved processing my images, seeing them come to life on the paper, and then seeing them bound in the pages of the HHS Yearbook.
Since 2009, I have been actively exploring light or lack there-of through the lens of my camera. I have studied light and motion, and how to combine them to create a memory via a photograph. I challenge myself every shoot to learn something new about how my camera can help me capture a moment in time. I have taught myself photography via online resources, online groups, and by having great friends to let me practice on them!
On the weekends, you will most likely find me either at a local music event, helping a family tell their story, or out and about in Kansas City capturing its beauty I love to frequent Powell Gardens, Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden, Loose Park, and take photo walks around the city.
I miss film photography, but love the freedom and immediateness of digital photography, and shoot with a Canon 70D. My focus over the last few years has been event, nature and lifestyle photography. I capture life and my surroundings as I see it, and post-process to fine-tune what the camera didn’t record.
I look forward to telling your story through my lens.
